Maritime UK has launched Version 7 of the Industry Code of Practice for Maritime Autonomous Ship Systems
The rapid advancement in maritime autonomy has led to the need for updated guidance for those who own and operate Maritime Autonomous Ship Systems (MASS). Although it is not a legal document, the Code has been adopted by manufacturers, service providers, and others as part of their daily work. Several manufacturers have reported that their clients require compliance with the Code for contractual negotiations.

Marine Components International (MCI) Wins Singapore Shipyard Deal to Supply Seven New CTVs
Leading Dorset-based maritime equipment specialist Marine Components International (MCI) is growing its exports footprint in Asia after winning a new deal to supply A60 fire dampers for seven new Windflex 27 Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) being built in Singapore. Poole-headquartered MCI operates the global rights to distribute fire dampers made by London based manufacturer BSB. MCI won the contract with the Singapore shipyard to supply the new-build vessels in partnership with Australian HVAC specialist Marine Airflow International based in Queensland.

Royal Navy Seeks Insights on Augmented Reality for Naval Ship Bridges
In a forward-looking move, the Royal Navy has initiated an exploration into the potential applications of Augmented Reality (AR) technology on Naval Ship Bridges. This development is part of the NavyX Augmented Reality in Ships Bridge Operations project. As of now, the Royal Navy has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to industry experts, inviting insights and proposals on the innovative use of AR in ship operations. Responses to this RFI must be submitted by 12:00 on Tuesday, 19th December 2023.
