OceanWise Awarded Contract for Maintenance, Servicing and Emergency Call-Out Services for ABP South Wales
OceanWise, a leading provider of marine data solutions and services, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a significant contract by Associated British Ports (ABP) to provide comprehensive maintenance, servicing and emergency call-out services for the South Wales ports of Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Port Talbot and Barry.
This service level agreement (SLA) underscores ABP’s commitment to maintaining operational excellence across its South Wales ports and enhances OceanWise’s position as a trusted partner in the maritime sector.
Under the agreement, OceanWise will deliver a range of critical services, including routine maintenance, technical servicing, and rapid-response support for essential marine environmental monitoring systems and sensors. The contract aims to optimise port efficiency, ensure system reliability, and reduce downtime, thereby enhancing the overall operational resilience of ABP’s South Wales facilities.
Key Features of the Contract:
- Comprehensive maintenance: OceanWise will provide annual inspections and preventative maintenance for key monitoring infrastructure, ensuring all systems are in optimal working condition.
- Expert servicing: Our team of highly skilled engineers will offer specialised servicing to operational environmental monitoring equipment, employing best practice to enhance performance and longevity.
- Emergency call-out support: OceanWise will deliver onsite emergency support, ensuring rapid response and resolution to critical issues that may arise, minimising disruption to port operations.
- Customer specific: The SLA is tailored to meet the specific needs of ABP South Wales and its individual ports, and aligns with the port’s strategic objectives and operational requirements.
“We are thrilled to build on our longstanding relationship with ABP and specifically in South Wales. Teamed with ABP’s pre-existing group-wide remote support package, this SLA gives ABP South Wales a fully supported, reliable system which they can be confident in. Our team is committed to providing exceptional service and support, leveraging our extensive experience and expertise to help ABP maintain its high standards of operational efficiency and safety, whilst ensuring accurate and reliable data is available whenever and wherever it is required.”
Becky Conway, Business Development and Oceanographic Engineer, OceanWise.
Ashley Curnow, ABP’s Divisional Port Manager for Wales and the Southwest, commented, “OceanWise has a proven track record in the maritime industry, and we are confident that this partnership will enhance the reliability and performance of our port operations. This agreement is a testament to our dedication to investing in top-tier maintenance and support services that ensure the seamless functioning of our ports whilst investing in assets.”
