Maritime technology company Ninety Percent of Everything (90POE) have announced the expansion of operations into Norway, recognising the intrinsic importance of the Norwegian maritime industry globally.
This strategic move aims to support ship owners and operators in the region to enhance efficiency and sustainability through the digitalisation of operations using the dedicated platform, OpenOcean STUDIO.
The announcement, as part of an event held yesterday in conjunction with the British Embassy in Oslo, also celebrated the recent signing of the UK-Norway MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) on Maritime Cooperation and was attended by the British Ambassador to Norway, Jan Thompson, State Secretary for Fisheries and Oceans, Even Tronstad Sagebakken, government officials and members of the shipping community.
Speaking during the event, both the British Ambassador, Jan Thompson, and State Secretary, Even Tronstand Sagebakken, wished 90POE a warm welcome and reiterated the move as an example of the long-standing relationship between the two countries, aligning with the ambitions of the Green Industrial Partnership, and giving cause for optimism and celebration.
Regarding the expansion, Richard Buckley, Founder and CEO at 90POE said:
“At 90POE we are advocates for the use of digital technology to improve maritime operations. We believe digital can be a key contributor in reducing emissions in line with both regulations and wider industry ambitions, all whilst ensuring the industry remains competitive and compliant.
“Our decision to strategically expand operations into Norway is no coincidence, this is a country renowned for its spirit of innovation, especially in maritime technology, and for its steadfast commitment to sustainability. As recognised by the both the British Ambassador and State Secretary for Fisheries and Oceans, this expansion is more than just business, it is about us aligning with customers and partners who share our vision for a future where commercial performance, organisational efficiency, and sustainability sail in unison.”
