Posidonia 2024
Posidonia 2024
3-7th June 2024, Metropolitan Expo, Athens, Greece
Posidonia brings the whole shipping world to its exhibitors. The international shipping community attends in strength with national pavilions and thousands of visitors. In 2022, 1,964 exhibitors from 88 countries and 28,892 visitors from 103 countries - 40,950 participants overall attended in strength as the event returned to the international maritime events calendar.
In its 2021–2022 annual report, the Union of Greek Shipowners records that total capacity of the Greek-owned fleet has increased 45% since 2014. Greek shipowners control 31% of the world capacity in oil tankers, 25% of the world bulk dry cargo fleet, 22% of the global LNG fleet, 15% of the global fleet transporting chemicals and petroleum products, 13% of the global LPG fleet and 9% of the global container fleet. The $156bn value Greek fleet represents 20% of global and 59% of European capacity. It represents a multi-billion-dollar opportunity for the whole spectrum of marine services, equipment and technology, with oil tankers and LNG and LPG carriers under construction, along with dry bulk carriers and container ships. Greek shipowners are constantly investing in new, energy efficient ships and environmentally friendly equipment. The average age of the Greek-owned fleet (9.99 years) is lower than the world average (10.28 years).
Posidonia takes its exhibitors to the heart of this community, giving them unmatched access to owners and managers keen to engage with suppliers and service companies for their shipping operations and fleet renewal. Technical and operations executives from all over the world will also be keen to engage with exhibitors – not only to discuss solutions but to make decisions. Posidonia is known for the business done in its exhibition halls. No other shipping event is attended by as many Greek and international shipowners and shipping executives.
THE UK GROUP AT POSIDONIA 2024
The Society of Maritime Industries (SMI) is the group organiser for the UK Group. Companies are hereby invited to join the UK Group.
The advantages of joining the UK Group are:
· SMI as the group organiser, deals directly with the Posidonia 2024 exhibition organisers, co-ordinates payments, appoints agents and stand contractors, briefs the exhibitors, etc.
· Participants exhibit as a co-located Group in the UK pavilion with strong visual UK branding which attracts visitors and international delegations.
· A British Embassy Networking Reception should take place as usual and Exhibitors and their clients and potential clients will be invited.
· Free listing in the Posidonia Show Guide, Posidonia website, mobile app
· Free electronic visitor invitations for exhibitors and free listing of exhibitors’ press releases on the Posidonia website
· Social media (LinkedIn/Twitter) promotion of the pavilion
· Branding to highlight the UK Pavilion
· A programme, managed by the UK Group staff, ensures that visiting delegations are routinely brought to all UK Group exhibitors.
· Interaction with the Department for Business and Trade and MCCO teams to maximise introductions and contacts at the event.
FLOORPLAN
We need a minimum of 9 companies to commit to this pavilion offer. If we do not recruit enough companies we will refer you to the UK sales team at the event organisers. The Hall floor plan can be viewed below (UK Pavilion area is highlighted in green). Floor plans can also be viewed here.

We have chosen a bespoke design and construction company for the UK Pavilion. The open stand design used for the UK Pavilion during 2022 was very popular with the exhibitors as it encourages better flow of visitors between stands and increased visibility from all directions.
Your package includes: 1 x Info desk with logo, 1 x glass table, 3 x chair, 1 x bar stool, custom size carpet, spotlights, waste bin, 1 x ground socket (500 Watt, positioned next to infodesk, power consumption is included in the package) and custom print graphic on one (back) wall (from graphic files provided according to technical specs to be supplied).

DEPARTMENT FOR BUSINESS & TRADE (DBT) SUPPORT
It is likely that the DBT will be supporting first-time exhibitors at Posidonia via a ‘meet & greet’ ‘POD’ on a shared stand in the UK Pavilion. POD exhibitors will be selected by the DBT in partnership with the UK Pavilion organisers, SMI. Further details to follow. Previous stand exhibitors at Posidonia cannot downsize to a POD at Posidonia.

The UK Group has now sold out. If POD spaces become available, we will update our webpage.
