Summary:
The Liverpool Maritime Academy brings together: the School’s internationally recognised research in marine and offshore engineering; undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and professional training for the maritime and port industries
Liverpool Maritime Academy offers academic programmes at both undergraduate and post graduate level.
Undergraduate degree courses include: CertHE/DipHE/BSc Nautical Science, Maritime Business and Management, Management Transport and Logistics, BEng/MEng degree programmes in Mechanical, Marine Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
Post-graduate courses included:MBA Maritime Management Marine and Offshore Engineering, Port Management Maritime Operations, International Trade Transport and Logistics, Risk and Safety Management, Structural Integrity and Risk Management, and Port Operations and Pilotage.
The University has been engaged in maritime research for over two decades: much of the development work in Electronic Charts was undertaken here in Liverpool. Today academy’s LOgistics Offshore and Marine (LoOM) Research Institute has established a worldwide reputation in risk and safety management and the development of management information and decision support systems within the marine, offshore and logistics sectors.
Academic programmes can be designed to meet the requirements of industrial clients and delivered on overseas if required.

The Liverpool Maritime Academy provides comprehensive professional education training for the development of marine pilots, deck officers and marine engineers, and engineers and managers in the maritime and offshore industries. Its advanced ship handling simulation facilities based at the Lairdside Maritime Centre provide a unique training facility. The Academy is able to offer a full range of STCW95 training programmes for ships officers, together with bespoke courses in marine pilotage, maritime english, port safety and security
