Description:

Founded in 1986, Clyde Marine Training has grown to be the largest maritime training provider in the UK recruiting approximately 50% of the annual Officer Cadet intake for the British Merchant Navy.

We currently have contracts with a host of major shipping companies to interview and select motivated young people on their behalf, overseeing their progress during training to become Merchant Navy Officers.

At any one time we have approximately 1,000 Cadets within the system, undergoing training in colleges and universities throughout the UK - Shetland, Glasgow, South Tyneside, Fleetwood, Liverpool, Plymouth and Southampton.

Our Cadets are managed through their training by a dedicated team of around 20 Clyde Marine Training staff who are based in both our head office in Glasgow and Southampton.

Our continuous aim is to be the foremost provider of quality services to the Marine sector and we are proud of our ISO 9001 – 2015 Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance Accreditation, which reflects these efforts.

We also pride ourselves on the high quality STCW training we provide to both Cadet and refresher courses for serving seamen and women required as part of their on-going employment.

Our highly trained instructors have a variety of backgrounds and are able to provide training, even at short notice, at our Glasgow and Southampton bases, and on board vessels when required.

CMT are accredited to the highest standards set by the International Maritime Organisation and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.  All STCW short courses meet the criteria outlined in the STCW 1978 code as amended.
